Ready, Set… Go Summer!

Posted by on Jun 4, 2012 in General | 2 comments

Summer starts right after South Carolina’s tennis State Championships.  Summer starts the week mixed doubles kicks off.  Summer starts with the new season of True Blood.

Sunday, June 9th, is the official first day of my summer.

Ah, summer sundays.  We practice tennis later at night, enjoy drinks with friends and go home to watch True Blood.  It doesn’t get any better.

The year has markers of new beginnings for me:  my birthday in January, the end of tennis spring season, August for back to school, November for a reflective pause before the bustle of the Holidays.  Each marker allows me to make time to define where I am in my life and where I’d like to be at the next marker.

I haven’t written my goals religiously despite my best intentions.  For the sake of avoiding the negative death traps along my trail of thoughts, I will not rap a wooden ruler on my fingers.  Instead, I will focus on my positive accomplishments in the last 6 months.

I finaled in two contests.

Palmetto Romance Writers has lifted off ground zero.

My weight is at lowest it’s ever been since… gosh, can’t remember the last time I felt this “light”. :)

My physical condition is at a high peak.

All in all, 2012 has been good for me so far.

With many projects wrapped up last week, it’s time for me to get back to my goals.  My written goals.  The ones I will take time to ponder in the morning before starting my day.

This week my goals are:

1)  Get ready for The Maggie with my crit partner

2)  Write two blogs

3)  Prepare workshop presentation on WordPress

What makes summer, summer for you?  Share with me!
